Cumann Caoga Bliain 2016
Cumann Caoga Bliain - 50 Year Anniversary Celebration
Over 120 graduates and friends attended the annual Cumann Caoga Bliain event in NUI Galway on May 11th. The day included a reception in the aula maxima, a bus & walking tour of the campus, a photographic exhibition, dinner, music, drama and much more.
This year's event was attended by alumni whose graduation years ranged from 1936 to 1966.
We were delighted to welcome back two of our most senior graduates - Ms Anne Byrne, a commerce graduate from 1936 and an arts graduate from 1937 who travelled from Co Longford and Ms. Maureen Hancock (nee O'Sullivan), a science graduate from 1937 and HDip in Ed from 1938.
It was with much regret to hear of Maureen's passing this summer. A wonderful woman, who had a great love for her alma mater. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam.
