Michaela Schrage-Frueh studied German, English and American literature at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz (1992-1999) and at University College Galway (1994-95). From 2001 to 2012 she was Lecturer in the Department of English and Linguistics in Mainz, where she received her doctorate in 2003 and taught classes on English literature from the early modern period to the present.
