Biography

Jennifer Holloway is Director of the PhD and MSc in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).  Dr. Holloway is a certified behaviour analyst and psychologist who has worked in the treatment of autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disorders for over fifteen years. Her clinical experience extends to include; early intensive behavioural intervention (EIBI), mainstream inclusion programmes and the provision of positive behaviour supports for individuals who present with challenging behaviour  She is a member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and is the treasurer/secretary for the Division of Behaviour Analysis (DBA) in Ireland. Her research interests include early intensive behavioural intervention and autism, family supports (parent and sibling), challenging behaviour, mainstream inclusion supports, screening for children ‘at risk’ for autism diagnosis, behavioural fluency instruction for positive academic outcomes and verbal behaviour.

  • Evaluating the outcomes of Behaviour Fluency on academic and self-management repertoires of individuals with learning disabilities
  • Investigating procedures for improving language skills in children with autism spectrum (ASD)
  • Early Intensive Behavioural Intervention for children with ASD. Investigating treatment and client predictors of best outcomes.
  • Investigating and developing family supports for children with developmental disorders (effects of parent education and sibling supports)
  • Behavioural Interventions to improve social skills deficits in individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Developing and testing interventions for meaningful social inclusion for children with additional needs such as ASD
  • Evaluating the effects of technology on social communication training for individuals with ASD transitioning to the workplace
  • Application of behaviour analysis to improve socially significant behaviour across populations and settings
  • Screening for children 'at risk' for diagnosis of Autism
