Biography

Jenny Mc Sharry is a registered Health Psychologist.
 
Jenny completed a PhD in Health Psychology Research and Professional Practice at the University of Southampton in 2013.
Her PhD explored how people make sense and manage having multiple conditions using the example of diabetes and depression.
 
Following completion of her PhD, Jenny worked as a research fellow in the Primary Care department at the University of Southampton and as a research associate at the Manchester Centre for Health Psychology at the University of Manchester.

Jenny joined the Health Behaviour Change Research Group at NUI Galway in 2014. 



 

Research Interests

Research Interests
-  Interventions to change health-related behaviours and the use of behaviour change techniques.
-  Understanding and managing health in the context of multiple illnesses.
-  Illness perceptions of people with chronic conditions.
- Adherence to medication.

Methodological Knowledge
-  Systematic reviews, meta-analysis and meta-synthesis.
-  Questionnaire design.
-  Qualitative methodologies.
