Biography

Following several years employed within the private sector, Páraic returned to third-level education where he received both his PhD (Psychology) and BA (Hons) Psychology degrees from NUI Galway. Previously, he has also attained a Diploma in Irish Studies from NUI Galway, and further specialised certifications within Information Technology, and Networks and Software Systems. Páraic currently serves as postdoctoral researcher and project manager on the 'StressBio' project. 'StressBio' represents a programme of research that is an interdisciplinary approach to build integrated understanding, classification, and monitoring of cardiovascular and immune system responsivity to stress. The project consists of experts from a range of disciplines; including psychology, engineering, and natural sciences. Prior to his current appointment, Páraic also served as a postdoctoral researcher with the Multiple Sclerosis Research Group at the University of Limerick. 

Páraic also currently lectures (part-time) at the School of Psychology at the National University of Ireland, Galway. He currently lectures on both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes on a range of topics, including; Personality Psychology; Forensic, Abnormal, & Clinical Psychology; and Health Psychology (specifically Biobehavioural Processes in Health and Illness). Páraic is also actively involved in research dissertation supervision at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
